lol, thats cool!
yeah i'd say protecting their breeding territory.
I wish some of my fish did that, except for the saratoga.
So are you sure youre ok? you havent lost a hand or anything? lol
i still have my hand all finger intact. just a little tramatized

hi.. i had a pair of convicts that behaved in more or less the same way.. as it turned out, they were breeding and have selected an area for their eggs.. they were just defending the site.. :)

I have two small convicts in my tank and they show know fear. They attack my hand and the gravel vac.I have also watched them(3" fish here)chase my 12" tire track eels and my 20" arrowana. They have alot of heart for small fish.

Just be glad that they are little convicts instead of a 12in green sevrum. Now that hurts when you get bit by him.

Nah... A sev doesn't hurt badly. A REAL bite comes from a large red devil, red terror, managuense or dovii. I saw a 12-inch female red devil make blood in two LFS employees here. I almost bought her... to make people keep their hands outta my tank! :FIREdevil
But I realized she would do the same to me... ;) :nono:

Best regards.

Daniel.

you should have got her

my pair of pink convicts are pansies.
i get near the tank, and they swim away. -_-
i know they are guarding eggs becasue all my other fish are on the other side of the tank, and i can see the lil fry. they're almsot free swimmers.

my wife wont even feed my oscars anymore. anytime a hand other than mine gets neer the water surface one of them jumps up and bites. hes a bad mofo.. :D

I don't have any Convicts...but I'm thinking of getting some :naughty:

I've been bitten by my Walking Catfish during a water change once. It felt like a small pinch. He's only 7" to 8" so it wasn't bad. I would've hate to feel a pinch like that from an 18" Walking Catfish :grinno:
