The CORRECT method for water changes. . .

So I clean out about 50% once a week. I hook a garden hose up that I start a siphon on and drain out my window into some plant beds. While the water is draining I siphon the gravel and take out about 20 gallons of water in buckets. When that is done I hook the hose up to the faucet and refill the tank with a very slow dribble. Adding chemicals to remove chlorine/adjust pH as it fills and adding warmer water with a bucket if needed.

Pythons waste a ton of water.
For my 210g I siphon out the poo with a hose attached to a clear tube, to the yard, then use a very large(1.2") pool hose(with a screen on the end so I dont suck up fish.) to drain the tank quikly into the yard. The volume moved by the large hose( 75%) removes the floaters stirred up by the earlier siphoning activities. 20min. start to finish. I have made pvc devices that hang on the side of the tank and defuse the water rushing back into the tank as I fill it( summer, straight from the spigot outside with a potable water hose, from the faucet indoors during the winter.)
Thats 158g changed in 20min.

ok awsome. i basicly do the same as most guys out there, siphon out 30-50% of my water out while removing most of the "gunk" hidden in the gravel. I just use a normal siphon into a HUGE drum thing, which works really well. I get my fair share of exercise trying to lift the huge drum,lol. But def sounds like i need a Python!

I guess i was just wondering if there is an easier way. . .hahaha how stupid was I to think that. . .lol

I don't use chemical (water conditioner) if I do less than 50%.
