Actually I have two places. One is under the Mcalpine upper dam on the Ohio River. Water levels must be right for them to pile up. Right now the river is about 1.5 feet above flood stage with a crest expected tomorrow at 26feet wich is 3ft above flood stage. For the gar to pile up they have to let out 6ft or less at the dam so that baisically means the area I catch the gar will be 20 feet underwater tomorrow! With all this dang rain we have been having it can be awhile before the water drops low enough. Usually in July and August it is.
The other is a creek that feeds into the river...more specifically in a neighborhood off of the creek a small 'marina' was dredged out years ago so people could keep their boats. The area has since filled in with mud and is only about 2ft deep but is always full of gar for some reason!
I just purchased a small aluminum fishing boat to get better access to the area and yes I will take tons of pictures. Before I had to wade so I didnt risk bringing my camera.
Eman, send me on of the million pulchers that are out west. I bet there isnt a single one in my state! If there was it would be in my tank!!!
