If you cut them in half and drop them in they should still wiggle for a minute, i do that with a couple of my new rays and they take them like that.

I'll have to try it, but im getting these worms outta the back yard and they are all relatively short anyway... (they are all around 1-2" right now... for some reason my yard grows stubby worms lol

Have you tried Red worms? They are on the small side and will live for a long time in water unlike earthworms.

red worms, like blood worms? or different?
She gets bloodworms when i have them, and also eats cut up silver sides, fish fillets and shrimp, but I'm out of all of the above at the moment (cause I'm a horrible fish mom and let my cupboards run bare) so they are getting earthworms, and they are free so my sturgeon who ONLY eats bloodworms could have the few I have left.

No, a red worm is a different species than a earthworm but still lives in the ground. They are alot more hardy than a earthworm. I think better for feeding to fish because of their size.

Oh wow, there was no pic there earlier or I wouldn't have sounded so dumb:ROFL:
Red worms like red wrigglers! Thats actually a lot of whats in the yard. Me and my grandpa transplanted some in his compost heaps and yard when I was young so we had good worms to use for fishing. :D
