What ive never understood is how some people get slated for having overstocked tanks but this guy (who I dont know and have no issues with btw) is admired for the exact same thing. I personally dont have an issue either way, I just find the duplicity of the hobby amusing sometimes.

its an American thing I guess, us Europeans are too simple to understand

The carpet of polys thing seems to be popular with bichir enthusiasts but I never understood the point of it all.

That's normal, just like some people doesn't understand why other keeps fish. "Most people or regular fish keepers have hard time to understand why we maintain this type of collection and spare no expense on this fascinating hobby!" - MFK Staff

To answer this question as simply as possible- not everyone will agree with HOW he stocks his tanks, but we all have to appreciate the quality of fish that he does have IN his tanks.

Oh I agree, to each his own. Some people like 1 big fish in a tank by itself, some like a multitude. If we were all the same it would be a very boring place. I wasn't 'hating' on him for doing what he does. He obviously puts a lot of time, effort and money into his collection and its clear he's passionate about it. I was merely commenting that in a different thread a different person could be torn strips off for having a tank with too many fish. Oh and apologies if it seems like im talking about you as if you're not here, its not my intention to be rude!

In most cases when you see people tell someone that they are overstocked, they tend to be new to fishkeeping and may not understand all that is involved in keeping clean water in an overstocked tank. Jlnguyen on the other hand, does. He's aware of his nitrate levels and everything he needs to do to keep the amount of fish he wants in the space that he has and you can see from the pictures that his fish are healthy and growing. Sorry for derailing your thread bro.

That's called MFK double standard...you see that around these forums sometimes...To the poster who said something about hating,I didn't notice any of that going on here..sounds like you need to stop swinging from the thread starter's member.

Yeah sorry to interrupt jl, you truly do have some awesome fish. And lol on the member krichardson!

Agree with what you both are saying too (krichardson&strollo)
