generally, a midas has is thicker bodied, while a RD has a longer snout and bigger lips. generally, most "RDs" you come across will be a hybrid. they even have been known to cross-breed in the wild.
alot of the time on here, you'll see people refer to their RD/Midas. They generally just assume the fish they got from the store is a hybrid.
unless you're planning on breeding and selling the offspring, don't put too much worry into it.
