The difference between florida and spotted gar

floridas should be fine with any fish fish they cant eat.
i have heard that gars hate silver fish though.
there is no difference between spotted and florida gars in size,care or looks.

actually, i think there is. it's just pretty insignificant in the home aquarium.

if there are any physiological differences in aquaria they are very very minor. i dont think anyone can effectively tell the two apart.

There is no difference in care, they may as well be the same fish as far as this is concerned. There is a method by which the two can be distinguished morphologically but this really is not fully proven to be a method by which a hobbyist can easily do. Given the lack of any real difference in husbandry it is not really anything to be worried with anyhow.

For the time being, Locality is the best method by which to determine species.
