im confused about the paroon shark (pangasius sanitwongsei)and the iridescent shark (Pangasius hypophthalmus). they both look similar, the only difference i can see is the paroon shark gets bigger and its fins are different.

does anyone know the difference between them?

ID sharks tend to me more slender and have the hammerhead look. Paroons have a much wider head. at least when young. And of course there is the size difference. And im sure if you heard from someone like neo who could tell you the skeletal differences as well as genetic differences that allow them to be two different species.

I agree. ID's look like a hammer head. I always describe them that way. The paroon is very bulky in the head/torso area. They also have a shorter tail section. Fins have tips that extend from fins. I have both. I prefer the look of the ID.
