No, don't do that. Tell him to meet you at the same place, then call and say that you are gonna be late (after waiting an hour like he did). Then say that you put the money on his door, but somehow it came back to you....

LOL I like that idea. I just dont want to screw up and somehow have the dog fall back in his hands. I just typed up a contract he will have to sign and I will deliver him the 50$(No staples on the front door since I calmed down) I dont want to take any risk that the dog could end up in his hands as it would eventually go to the pound.. :(

As entertaining as rmorse's idea is, I think its wise to take all these precautionary measures.

Although for the life of me I can't figure out why you told him the dog was back with you in the first place...

cute dog...

i concur.. keep him!

Thanks he is scheduled to go in tommorow. I got a call from his now previous owner :) I told the guy look... It sounds and looks like this dog is too much trouble for you would you mind if I kept it. He said yes he wants it back and I asked him how much for the dog (Him being a coke head) he replied 50 bucks:ROFL::screwy::(

I am gonna staple it to his front door.
get it in writing... have a big buddy with you as a witness... this guy could start an extortion business... creep..

My training partner Aris who I go to vale tudo lessons with just happens to be riding with me that way to go to ultimate fitness in Sac. So he will be there he's a little bigger than me at 6'2 240. And yeah I mentioned before I got it in writing and he will sign it. :) If he wants to renig I will resist as much as possible and if he succeeds his life will literally be a living hell (I can be very vindictive and revenge driven)

Honestly though I think he is just gonna go buy a gram of coke and forget all about it.

thats one smart dog!!

Should have taken before pictures of the dog- with it dirty and under feed- they tell that loser that you are going to turn him in to the SPCA for neglect. Bet he wouldn't be asking for $50. If needed, check with the local (but not too close) shelter- tell them that you will adopt the dog if the owner does not show. Then tell the loser that the dog ran away again. Would rather see you pay a shelter $50 to adopt (going to a good cause) than giving a loser money for a dog they don't take care of.

I would not let this dog be in any form of unsteady situation. I want him free and clear with no ambiguity. Today I get signed contract. Tommorow he is chipped in my name and fixed up and checked for any ailments heartworm etc.

PS I really should have taken pictures before I gave him two baths in a row to get the rocks and road tar out of his fur. However I was really upset at that time that someone would let their dog turn in to that... You guys would be appalled he looked like he had not eaten in over a week. He drank a bowl of water when I offered it to him ... :( the
last thing on my mind before he was cleaned up was getting pictures it was really sad.
