I will not flame you, because I am totally against "overcrowding" flamers.

What I do not get, however, is what made you introduce a SH in an otherwise "workable" community........

didn't have anywhere else to put him and didnt want to pass up a channa with the pattern/color I was looking for. Im building a couple other tanks so most of my fish are in temporary holding "cells/groups" at the moment. As I mentioned, monitored the fish at the LFS for a week before purchasing. there were smaller more vulnerable fish in that tank left unscathed for the duration. Made a decision to take the risk (rather at the fish's risk) as this channa appeared better tempered than others. Had a divider ready and waiting on the first day. He didnt make kills until 2 weeks after introduction. Soon as I realized, the divider went in. anyways, if it offends anyone, please look past it as the intention for info posted as per OP request is to add keeper observations with the view to better understand dorado behavior.

I understand that a SH is not be passed on.

Was just asking for the rationale........
