The easiest way to catch the little ones?

I want to catch some baby fish in the private ponds and creeks around me in hopes of catching a baby LMB or a nice bluegill. Whats the easiest and most efficient way? I was thinking about making the 2 liter bottle traps; what do I use for bait inside of those? I don't want to use a regular minnow trap in fear of it getting stolen and I want to set more than one. Or just have another way. I'd like to catch fingerling (1-2") size preferably. Thanks
 
Get the absolute tinniest hook you can find... barbless. Put a tiny piece of worm on and put it near your desired fish. They will usually bite it and little to no damage is done to the fish.
 
Is there any easy way to trap them? I don't want to use them for bait I want a nice crappie or LMB to keep and put in my pond me and my dad are talking about.
 
if you dont mind a little damage to your fish then you can try something like this i tried fishing for baby fish with a size 10 hook and a tiny bit piece of worm attached to it.. i caught a 1 inch baby bass before.. other "bigger" fish will bite it too of course, but you gotta keep trying until you satisfied with the size you desired.
 
i would just get a butterfly net or a net with little tiny holes, like the screens on your windows or door. then just walk the shoreline and scoop around aread with a lot of weeds in the water. scoop it all up and poke through it. ive caught baby bluegill, crappie, bullheads, lg mouth bass, and even pike.

This is what I normally do but all I catch are bluegill. What would be the best time of year to go looking for bass and crappie? When do their eggs usually hatch?
 
small then mesh cast net would be the least hassle , for best results your going to need a large net, a buddie and prepare to get in the water
