Divide a river into a deep reservoir above the dam and a much more shallow river system below the dam. Do you not see how this effects the entire system? Plants, invertebrates, sedimentary deposits, inhibited spawning paths, increase or decrease in current. It not only effects fish but the entire food web in the ecosystem.
