Hello I am looking for a small black bullhead catfish for my future black catfish aquarium ( its already set up) knowledge the only ones i can catch around where I live is mud catfish, brown bullhead, channel catfish and yellow catfish. I live in grottoes you know anywhere I could get one please let me know p.s I have a 100 gallon aquarium for one of these fish and am currently building a 6 foot wide, 4.5 foot deep pond for it if my aquarium is to small.

Welcome to the MFK!

I've never seen them offered for sale that I can recall. I'd be interested too.

One or two keepers on my memory reported here on keeping this fish, one guy had ~30+ or them in a large tub.

Maybe you could go to Ohio and catch some yourself http://www.planetcatfish.com/common/species.php?species_id=32

Type your answer outside of the quote marks. Yea, they should be in VA, but I've no clue how wide spread.

Great photo! Clarias gariepinnis, I presume? But what does this have to do with black bullhead?

When you use reply function, you need to type your part outside of the quote marks containing the input of a person you are quoting or replying to.

So when you were asking where to find a black bullhead, you had already had one swimming in your tank? What did you think it was, yellow?

It may not be easy to tell black from brown.

Nice photos... except I surely can ID you now. The fish's a different matter ;) Post pics of it in the tank, for our pleasure, if you are sure of the ID.
