hmm when u say final do you mean they are extinct? or that your the only keeper that have them ?

I waz thinking the same thing.

Its a threatened species last i checked i hope it hasn't become endangered i think thats the main reason there are so few in the aquarium hobby people are worried that they will become endangered in the wild

For what it's worth this is a very interesting fish both behaviour and evolutionary wise. May not be bright and shiney but it is an incredible fish. And, as Seiichi mentioned, he may be the only person in the world that has a captive pair. That is impressive in and of itself.

It takes a trained, experienced eye that is open to more than just pretty colors to appreciate the awesomeness that is this fish.

Did these go out of the hobby? I bought some of these at an auction in Florida years ago, they were not rare then.

They get out competed by the labridens that are not as specialized in the rivers .
They are the coolest top CA cichlid there is .
