Mike - i just used jardinis as an example because everybody in the hobby has seen one. But jars and asians are so different in so many ways its not even a fair comparison.

well, price and scarcity aside, the Asian Arowana has quite a few characteristics over oscars,

True. But oscars have a lot over Asian arowanas as well. In fact, they have a lot over other cichlids. Great personality aside there really is no other cichlid or fish that looks like an oscar, they have a very unique look and their personalitys are great.

oh man, my oscar has been such a pain in my buttocks lately, refusing to eat floating pellets, only eating wardley's shrimp pellets and live crickets :swear: :swear: :swear: , starve him for 3-4 days, same thing

I hope i dont sound elitist but oscars are not in the same league as Asian Arowanas. Thats like comparing a toyota with a bentley.

And if it was the other way around are you sure you would still be saying that?

Some people would rather have a Toyota over a Bentley, even if they can afford it. I would rather have an asian aro, but that is my OPINION.
