The Festae is Almost Healed & Lookin' Beautiful/Pics

Well.. to tell you the truth.. if the fish was misabeled as something else.. and it has damage like that... I would probably bargain a bit.. $15?

I really have not seen any red terror around the So cal lfs.. so i would have completely mistaken it for some other fish.. since the first pic looks very pale and stressed..... But 20bucks is awesome...

I wish one day i can find this fish too...

The tank wasn't labeled or priced but I knew it was a Festae the moment I saw her. I felt so bad for her all cowering up in the corner behind a filter intake. The first guy wanted $60 so I left and came back a couple days later and talked to the manager. I told him I have a $20 bill in my pocket and that's what I got her for including tax.

I did this trick once.. I offered all that i had in my wallet... $25 for an old AC 110.. store owner wanted 40 for it..

but the owner actually said.. you can pay next time.. i'll charge it to you tab... lol.. i was sorta shocked by then...

so 2 days later i went in a paid 40 for it... it works just fine.... after a 25 minutes of good scrubbing.. but it was a great find..

Would you recommend housing a Festae with a Silver arowana? at 12" inside a 150 gallon?

assuming the Festae is at 3"-4" big..

I paid $43USD each for my two AC110's new, so I don't know that you got such a great deal.

I think a Silver Aro of that size might eat a 3-4" fish so no, I can't recommend that. And I hope you have a much larger tank in the works than a 150g for the Aro for later. :)
 
Excellent job on mending her balton. What else did you do to heal?
 
you have worked wonders with her mate, that little scar will just add to her individuality. congratz on the good recovery.

I'm happy with her as is but still hoping it fades some more.
