The Fish That Wont Grow....

Heres my green terror that iv had for about 4 months now and it hasnt grown at all! its in a 55 gallon tank and i aslo would like to know if its a male or female

lol, I have a bichir that's the same way. 9 months old and still 4", I just moved him out of my 55 and into a smaller tank hoping he could find food better.

Can't help on the gender but it has great color for being so small. Kudos.

feed it protien flakes if your lfs has any .. mine grew so quick on them n loved them too
it looks more female but cant really tell at time s ....

Hmm try feeding it krill or depending on size mybe brineshrimp. Cichlid delight frozen foods works wonders along with weekly partial tank vacs and w/c's.

Looks female to me.. A nice one too.. Probably max out at 15-20cms.. How big is she now?

i think it looks completely MALE, super designs within dorsal fin and tail (i have yet to see a female with these designs), trailers are NOT a very good way to determine sex as both can have them, as a matter of fact my female GT got pointed fins way before my male did (and my male looked just like yours does until a couple weeks ago they finally started to get pointed), GTs aren't really fast growers so as long as you keep your nitrates low (by keeping up with wc) and feed well then he should fill in on his own time, also have you seen his poo? GTs can be prone to parasites so make sure to watch out for that as that will slow his growth as well GOOD LUCK

I feed him Tetra Cichlid Flakes and frozen brine shrip as for filtration its just a 60 gallon one from wal-mart and i vacum the tank every week.. his tank mates are 4 gaint danios that have been in there since i got him and a white lobster (crayfish) whatever lol and no he gets most of the food lol
