yup.

remember, we are not talking about a fancy automobile with all the latest features, creature comforts etc.

we are talking about a filter that takes water in, pushes it through media, and spits it back out again.

and it has to work exactly right all the time (no glitches, things to reset etc) otherwise it puts our fish at risk.

arguing over this for the next month is pointless and moot. However this is exactly what they want it's such great advertising to get this kinda hype

I agree with Jack Frost. I'm going to wait and see the pros and cons of this new filter is in the new year.

so a car with air bags doesnt have to be right with peoples lifes at risk

you are right everything has gliches but with the FX5 still new to the market it seams fluval have given up on the FX5 idea and moved on

if the fx5 was such a great design then surely their wasnt many improvments to be made

fluval look to have had a complete rethink with their flagship filter just a few years after the FX5 was put onto the market that doesnt say much for the design of the fx5

Seems to me hagan is very much into marketing hype. Introducing new filters or reintroducing old filters as a new series. So either their products need improved or they are just find ways to create profits.

Personally myself I'll stick with old, proven designs that have worked efficiently for a decade.

of course it does.

but you would be worried if a car came out that shut itself down every 24h to purge gas fumes :)

thats why i buy German cars and German filters :D

I think it is the latter.....all businesses are trying to find ways to incresae profits in these tough times. If reaserch into creating this filter goes back 2-3 years, they may be looking at this, to be that product which will give a injection into the sales that the the FX5 has not produced.

just a thought

my mate has been to the new hagen launch today to see the filter amongst other things launched.

my self personally, its goling to cost a fortune and it will be over engineered.
it might be amazing and the best filter ever but i wont be getting one.

i have a large wet dry trickle filter holding 45lts of k1 media, 5000 lph flow rate and it cost me £100 to build including the media.

I BET THAT FILTERS THE WATER BETTER THEN THIS £400+ FLUVAL.
