wow. at least it looks good. lmao £349.99. how much for the new cartridges i wonder???

the flow rates are rather small for something with such a price tag. not so great if you want to have good water movement in a 600l tank while doing a good job at filtering at the same time. could you afford a powerhead to do the water movement after paying for this?!

im in the market for a large filter from november and this is not it. either pond filter or fx5 for me.

I have thought about getting a large pond filter for my tank instead of canister filters and holly shhhhh... it may actually make finantial sense now this is out lol

.

keep in mind that the MRP for the FX5 is much, much higher than the £114 you can easily get one for...

you can about double the fx5's offering by using pond equipment without going past the fx5 budget.
the hard bit is being bothered to find the parts and pull them all together to form a beast of a filter system.

Yep your right thats why i havnt done it yet if im honest. That and the fact that i dont have the DIY skills to make a large pond filter. Not to mention the fact that i have no room to store it indoors, so i would have to drill through the wall to outside and have the pipes comeing in and out from outside, where the filter would have to be stored in a little bunker type thing. I just wouldnt/dont know where to start!!:eek::eek: Im fed up and confused just typeing this lol:shocked::shocked::jaw-dropp

the point is i can get 3 fx5's for £390 with free postage. for only £40 more i can get 2 beastly backup filters instead of one main filter.
or with pond equipment i can push filtration to double an fx5's capacity for the price of a single fx5 (maybe less if i really looked around).
with this in mind, why would people want to spend £349.99 on a filter with the only redeeming quality of looking nice. other than to show off.
