so, it has probes to monitor

ph - which is useless -on 99% of tanks it is a non issue.
temperature - which is again useless since we all have $2 thermometers
conductivity - again, basically useless unless you have a reef tank, and even then its not really necessary.
flow rate - again, not necessary. we all service our filters at regular intervals anyway.

Im disappointed.

it seems the majority of us expected much more from them.

I think this filter is designed to sit next to your ipod on your minimalist style low line glass entertainment unit to keep your beta in is 10 gal from getting too board, by creating some turbulence.
.

looks like it was designed by apple they should rename it the "fluval I-Filter"
I wonder how many gig of water it flows

IM GETTING 2 G6'S. these filters are the real deal im seriously getting 2 g6s. i think its very very sleek looking and i would love to know my flow rate at all times the ph is also very cool to know. im in love with the filter! all the haters need to go somewhere haha

YOU GUYS ARE SUCH CYNICS

iTS NOT EVEN ON THE SHELVES YET.

well my mate has had it to bits today and has chance of one at trade price and isnt going to bother.
its that bad.

he says its beautiful, well built and just outstanding to look at, but for a functional filter its not worth it.

its desighned to use only fluval media.
the canisters sit in baskets and the baskets hold the bio media, the canisters are the prefilter.

i saw a brand new fx5 at my local pet store brand spanking new for 250 bucks before tax. looked to be a very good filter to me and i have heard alot of good things about them.

besides, this fluval g seems to be meant to compete with eheim's pro 3 e filters. so i would imagine that beside all that 2-3 years of engineering and 3 million dollar r & d cost it would still be priced competitevly with the eheim pro 3 e and the big eheim pro 3.

my guess would be around 400-450 dollars or so online, max. remember, it has to affordable for a hobby...!!!
