Thanks Jac! Ive been spending a lot of time on the river the last couple weeks and finally it paid of big time
The fishing is tough but if you pay your dues you will be rewarded. The last couple weeks a bwo hatch has been popping off. Its startn to teter off now. Now il start targeting some other waters. Troutslayer and I fish together on the reg.
Landed ten..lost a bunch more. 8 on dries. Broke 3 off. One of em was while I was nymphing and it stole one of my home ties.

cool catches everyone!!! its been a while since i added to this thread as it has been hard to get out due to this bogus weather. here are some fish i caught in the fly while in st. Petersburg FL. i was throughing a 5wt rod with a green wooly bugger and brown/orange crab imitation. i landed two sheepshead(biggest around 14" and smaller one was 8"), a large mullet(16"+ on an egg pattern lol) and some small mangrove snapper

photo dump of some fish that iv'e caught on fly rod over the years. and i've always gone by this motto by a friend, "when in doubt, throw a green wooly bugger". and i kid you not that over 3/4ths of these fish were caught on green wooly buggers lol.
Nice G! I gotta get my ass up there one day. Im stuck here in Yosemite this weekend with 10" fish and barbless hooks haha

Almost everywhere I fish is barbless. Today was barbless. But my hook sets were pretty good. I lost/missed less than I landed. That is quite good for me throwing dries. Fun day for sure. SOme nice big fish today...3 over 20".
i guess it was more towards the 10" fish. haha. I'd be happy with one 20" fish. What patterns are they on right now? the locals here don't really like to share hatch info haha. 5 fish on Mosquito patterns only so far
