we just purchased a 46 gallon bow front... are we out of our minds?! lol considering turning it into another dwarf snakehead tank, unless i find a cichlid that catches my eye- cant decide!! *we reeeeeally need to move out of our apartment...not enough room or floor stability for the addiction we've picked up =D

They are looking good. Just out of curosity why don't you plan to keep all 6? How many are you going to keep? They do better in colonies so a group of 5-6 (1male, 4female or something like that) in a 125+gal tank would be a great start to a breeding colony. I have a breeding colony of 12 f1 kigomas myself, its a neat experience rasing them from fry into a full grown breeding colony. I am sure you will enjoy watching them grow!

the breeding project has been set aside for now... our 120 gallon is.housing fire and ice snakehead at the moment and we just dont have room for another 100+ gallon tank(not right now anyways, hehe) so for now we have 2 gorgeous catfish(synodontis petricoli & synodontis pardalis) and 3 fronts. right now we'd just like to watch the ones we have grow and mature while we educate ourselves. i feel a tad too inexperienced to go commit to such a fragile process just yet. but the fronts mixed with catfish makes for a goreous living room centre piece =) and they have such adorable and peacefull personalities-its a nice contrast to the snakeheads lol

There from 8 to 12" and spook really easily Idk why but I have to be carfull when I turn on the light not to move to fast or they will smash into the sides of the tank

thanks and yes i am trying to get them to breed but im not expecting anything yet. the tank was set up not to long ago and they are still getting used to the tank. i do know they are skiddish that's why i put so many caves for them and now i have a nice big pice of drift wood in there with them. they also bump off the heater on the back of the tank all the time so im thinking of putting it into the sump i have also thrown a few other fish with them so i can shut down other tanks. good luck with your fronts it is going to be a few years before they get big but it will be worth it. what size tank are you planning on putting them into once there bigger
