I think that thing will bow being only 1in. if you go tall....

It was set up for quite a while already And I swear it was thicker than 1" when we moved it!!

Still I think he should flip it on it's side and replace the top to be the face

Nope it's 1" thick, I just checked.

I think flipping it is the only way to go now. This is my first acrylic tank so I'm not sure on the bowing.

Do others agree with Gr8, will this thing bow?

I Think that flipping on its side would fit your needs PERFECTLY!!! You could cut one of the current sides off to make it the face... And use the cuttoff top to be part of the bracing on the new top..
