The future of aquarium lighting - CHECK THESE OUT

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
no word on them yet. just initial designs. they will most likely be expensive for a while though. there's actually a lot of other companies making high end LED aquarium lights like these for example. should be seeing some very cool lights in the near future. pretty much the end of fluorescents as we know it!!

I thought about building something like this using LED's, and cost wise it was as much as buying metal halides at the time, and getting less output. The amount of wpg/lumens may not add up to be worthy of certain planted tank situations. 1w LED's were/are pretty expensive, so...that given, specs are needed before it's worth planted tanks.

On the other hand, it's a cool looking light, and for regular tanks, it looks pretty spiffy.

LED are so effiecient that they are used on the new Lexus LS460's front headlights, an 80 grand car :) I can't afford the car but Im saving up for this light lol

Very nice!!!!

Everything that comes out that is extremely cool is always way out of price range... It will probably cost $800 for a 75 gallon tank sized light.:screwy:

Just for clarification, that's only available on the LS600, and that starts out at around 90k.

I'd guess they will be in the thousands for only a 2' tank. The PFO solaris came out at nearly $2500 for a 1' section.

You're right, I forgot it's the 600; I haven't read a car magazine in a while :D
