thought i'd write up a review of the things we accomplished in 2010, and some of the things i have in mind for 2011. feel free to include anything i've missed or any of your own! of course, keep all this gar/gar forum related

2010

2011

• Completion of the Gar Captive Guide
• the Gar ID Key

Personal

2010

• upgrade of gar tank to 360gal
• acquired my third cuban and 2 longnose gars
• managed not to sell any gars

2011

• Acquire some tropical gars!! (damn it 2011's gonna be the year i finally get some!)
• Record data for captive bred florida & tropical gar growth.

2011 list of need to be done
- get tropical gars
- get the sump for the 220 up and running
- move the gator from the 1500 gal to 5300 gal

2010 I bought Atractosteus spatula (alligator gar). Now I keep it in 1200 liter (370 gallons) tank

2011 to build a larger tank for A.spatula!

Upgraded from the 200 gallon pond to the 600 gallon
Acquired 4 florida and 4 gator gars

2011
Set up a couple more gar ponds and upgrade the gators
Track down some more gar species, specifically longnose and tropical

2010- Purchased a gator, then 3 Floridas in March. Rehomed them all due to lack of tank space. Few days ago, picked up a Florida again!

2011- Make a silver aro and Florida work in my 240g.

2010 - bought florida and gator then sold them again, now my primitive tank is lacking gars

2011- will buy another florida then keep it for life

great summary xander, and good to hear everyone's other comments as well! the past year has been a great one for the gar forum in terms of building a stronger community, sharing/learning new information on gars, and just enjoying keeping Lepisosteids as a whole.

i will have to come up with my list, but one big thing i definitely want to do for 2011:

- FINISH the GAR dissertation (finally)!!! will hopefully be able to update on (at least the interesting points of) that progress over the year.--
