I follow. And when you talk to them at the yard sale, they don't want to hear it. "The fish just die" is their mantra and they reject education more often than is wise. Some want to know, but few seek out the knowledge at the prudent time.
Lets see, I have a 55 gallon, well an Aqua Clear 70 will do in a pinch - its good for up to 70 gallons! Oh dear, i have to change the water more than once every 6 months? what! Oh, dear the fish have died, lets sell our 10 gallon set up for 150 online! yay!

Every time I visit a friend or family who have tanks as a "nice to have", and then I visit again a few months later, the tank is always gone.
"What happened to the fish?" I ask
"Oh, they died."
"Ah."
"Yup. But we have a bird now."
"Really."

No, anyone who is smart enough to research and be on this site is not the general public.
