The Good Ole Days - Pre 2010 members Check In

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Seems the heyday was during the height of Waterwolves and start of Mfk. The rivalry and bad blood that followed. So many interesting and fun people from back then have faded away. i still post but it's very different nowadays. ....Ted was a great guy. Sent me a bunch of fry nc just because.

So u took the hotdog bait i left for todays trolls eh? lol... Was somewhat common place here not all that long ago. I always preffered turkey franks for cleaner water and they worked fine for me for many yrs. Even fed franks to my rays back in the day. haha... Most annoying part was having cashiers ask you "are you having a bbq today"? when u show up with an entire shopping cart full. Times sure have changed... and u do know thats not me right??

Still lurk sometimes. Things are very different from the good ole days.... big fish/big tanks are definitely the minority on MFK now. The "passionates" have taken over and basically rule MFK now.

Yeah! I came back after 4 or 5 years and the photo lounge isnt very active anymore compared to the old days, and im having trouble finding any posts of 450, 600, 750 gal tanks that people used to have. A lot of the old members that had the big tanks are gone now.

Maybe we'll have to build big and fire it up again! :D

I just found out Arapaimaman is another member no longer with us :( R1_Ridah, Arapaimaman.. Geez :(

He was very ill when the MFK volunteers made the trip to his place to help him. His vision and dedication to the hobby was so impressive (not to mention that tank). He was trying to turn his dream into reality.

I miss R1_Ridah too. :(

I see some familiar faces! Or usernames atleast

I think it is good that this place is more accepting of the mini monster tanks but is really too bad that it came at the cost of the big monster tanks. Everyone has to start somewhere and I think fostering good technique in the younger up and coming keepers is important. Maybe we will see a resurgence and lure back some of the active members we lost. RIP to all those we can't get back.

I guess now its time for the younger generation to slowly build up to those 500 - 1000G tanks... Now a days seems a lot more younger fish keeers are around as well which is always a good sign for the hobby and its future ;)

I miss old days. I remember on predatoryfish and waterwolves going into the chat forum and having loads of folks to talk with. I used to talk to a bunch of folks on aol instant messenger. Sadly those days or gone and the hobby is in decline or at least on the forums it is.
