  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well. Im heart broken and angry. For the 3rd time now my goonch suddenly died over night. All 3 were healthy. Eating shrimp and live. Swimming around. Water params perfect. Ph 7.2 temp 75. Tons of oxygen and flow. Fish were fine christmas day. Stayed at my gfs house overnight. Came home yesterday all 3 dead. Seriously what gives! Did everything i could for these guys to be happy

Tough loss,sorry to see this.

THat's tough, I'm sorry :(

What's your ammonia and nitrates?

Goonch stress easily if those numbers aren't flawless (0,0,20 OR LESS) and tend to freak out. If they're being harassed by other fish, they freak out. If theres a sudden change in water conditions, they freak. If pretty much anything happens, they freak.

These freakouts often result in the fish swimming violently and sarcastically around the tank, resulting in the fish smashing into the glass, killing itself. One goonch freaking out can set off the others.

There's been a few documented instances of goonch self destruction like this, and there's no clear cause for the initial freakout.

my bagarius did swimming violently and sarcastically like you said about three days ago, but it's still live till now..but i still can't find if my baga are eating or not..because all of it's tankmates are gluttony fishes..any advices to make my bagarius eat??

Try feeding at night under the moonlights. It was what I found to be the most effective way to feed my Bagarius rutilus.

Feel free to add me.

As for the death, who knows? It's one of the bigger mysteries in the hobby. Bagarius are notorious for suddenly dying for no apparent reason. I wish I could offer more help. :(

thanks rob, i will add you soon..i'm sure i have lots of things to ask to you..

and yes, i hate the fact that it always suddenly die..but she jumped out of the tank, and i found it's body outside tank and already covered with ants..more *sigh* things..
i will try to found it again soon..it's a rare yarelli..
