The Great Global Warming Swindle

What I dont understand is why most glaciers are growing right now. Here is a strong arguement against global warming.

Studies have statisically shown that global warming is caused by trees and Panda Bears. These same studies have shown that eating steak and watching TV can help reduce this problem. Lets all kill the panda bears, chop down trees, eat steak, and watch "Deadliest Catch".

It sure is easy to say that "Studies have statiscally shown" isn't it? LOL

IMO Global warming does have natural cycles...I think we agree on that?.....but there has NEVER been the output that we have now as there has never been anywhere near the global population that we have now.
7 Billion tons of CO2 from human activity each year, predicted ( by Exxon) to grow 50% in the next 15 years....so....the planet is in a natural warming cycle..I have no problem with that...but it seems to me to be simple logic that our massive amounts of waste products MUST have a deleterious effect..how can it not?
The pop' grows, the output grows with it...but the earth is still the same size.....at some point our consumption will exceed the planets abilties to absorb it, should we wait until that is the case or perhaps take a few preventative measures before that?
It has been recently estimated that if the whole world enjoyed the standard of living that we enjoy in the US then we would need 2.5 planet earths just to sustain ourselves......
Unlimited growth is self evidently unsustainable where resources are ultimately limited, so at some point we humans will be forced to make changes, I always thought " a stitch in time saves 9" and " prevention is better than cure"

I am an engineer, not a meteorologist, climatologist or environmental scientist. So, when it comes to man made global warming I don't feel that I know more than anyone one else who educates himself on this issue. I am sure I can pull out statistics and we can argue back and forth all day but it would be nothing more than mental masturbation.

I just went to Wikipedia and it appears you are right, one of the scientist in the film disagrees with the film's conclusion. And one of the graphs was found to be wrong, then changed for reruns of the program.

My main point was that many scientist disagree with the man made global warming theory, therefor there is not a consensus among the scientific community. To me it seems like a bunch of non-Quantum Physicists arguing about String Theory.

At least tho you took the trouble to check
:)

String theory is now called M theory, which unites all the various string theories
:)

My question re global climate change is this.......OK, so some scientists disagree, but can we afford to be wrong about this?
can we ( as species) afford to wait until the final results are in or should we make some kind of effort to mitigate potential problems?

"Treat the earth well: it was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children. We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors, we borrow it from our Children. "

I dont think that we can really say "can we afford to be wrong about this". That statement leads one to believe that this is a one way street. For example, yes, there is some "warming" going on, and a statement like that kind of says, "the smart thing to do is to check this thing out cuz we cant afford to be wrong, and WHY WOULDNT WE CHECK INTO THIS"? The problem is, its not as easy as that, were not just looking at some graphs and coming to a conclusion, there are BILLIONS of dollars being thrown at this thing, and it has turned the corner from "science" to politics. This global warming thing is way to big of a deal now to act like its just logical that we pursue this hypothesis head over heels. Its getting to the point now where there is a wierd globalwarmingism, that feels like McCarthyism all over again. The global warming thing is a package deal, its not just "we're trying to save the Earth, and your not", its an entire movement that is changing the world, and it seems to me not for the better. Not to mention that it's not even a proven fact.

There is less evidence for a God, but a lot of people believe in one to the point of being ready to kill for or die for it

lol, 1. Unfortunately that doesnt prove or really help your argument at all. 2. There is PLENTY of evidence for God, just a lack of objectivity on the observers part.

The earth that is now warming is evidence of God.

either that or you believe in faith that a big mass of jumbled randomness or big giant explosion or whatever happened to create it.

I'd go with an intelligent designer that created the earth and all its laws and boundaries so that humanity could survive on it....but thats just my opinion. (although I'm right....:D )
