Ill add to that list with species of whitefish/ meeomie (not sure how you spell), Brook trout, Lake trout, smelt and many other small minnows. I am sure there are many more Oh yes there is native Lamprey, and white bass. Some that are thought to no longer be with us, the blue pike, the cisco species, harelip sucker. I think that 2 lake trout species are the only two native species of trout, all the others were introduced I am not sure on brook in the great lakes, they are native to PA maybe long ago they were here, don't see them much at all, I can see why the trout came it is a multi-million dollar business up here with the steelhead. A lot of the other non natives came by ignorance or mistake white perch, goby, freshwater shrimp, alewife...
There so many different fish in the system youll never can know what you might catch on a given day.
I was a little bit poded when I saw my favorite spot on espn last year, we have liscence plates of cars from all over the states..good thing I still know of some secret spots!!! The amount of people has quadrupled imo in the last 5 yrs. We now have more people on any given weekend than we did on opening day of trout 10yrs back!! Just ridiculous...
