The Hairless Bear

It looks SO much like Sarcoptic mange (a parasite that lives in follicles and when severe enough, makes all hair fall out and is VERY contagious) !!! The hair-loss, the wrinkly skin, the contagiousness of it all. Here's a dog with mange, see the resemblance?

(the scabs are from the dog itching- it is TERRIBLY uncomfortable )

Bummer, thats sad whats happening to them. The skin looks very dry.

I bet this is stress related. Bears arent meant to live in a zoo.

Looks like they have demodectic mange. I wonder if the vets have done a skin scrapping to test or have just allowed it to go on so they draw in the public?$$$$

that pic of that dog with mange looks really painful and nasty. how do dogs get it? do they have a shot or something to stop it from happening?

That is nasty,when I was a kid I knew 2 families that had dogs like that.Just kept them like that.I always wondered if something could have been done for them.
