the hardest thing about fish keeping

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
bordom, i get bord with stock quickly so end up changing my tanks around alot wiether it be aquascape or stock, i cant decide what i want to keep long term im finally getting my stock how i want it now.... how long will that last though lol... its not fair on the fish and same as above if its rare i buy it then worry about whether i actually wanted/needed it or if i had space for it. so on a whole i guess its my own irresponsibility that bugs me, its too easy to make visiting the lfs's religiously your hobbie, or sitting on here instead of enjoying your actually tank!

Exactly how I feel. One day I went through my old threads and realized how many fish/tanks I've sold over the years from being bored or wanting something I saw for sale somewhere. That was a MAJOR issue for me. I'm very happy with my current stock and my goal is to keep these guys for the remainder of their lives. Feels better finally talking about this openly. I was wondering if I needed therapy but this helped.

Yeah, whether we like to admit it or not alot of fishkeeping is a very cruel hobbies.
Do your best to get fish you want to keep forever people.
They are living creatures, if your fish are fighting find the offender's good homes, find a happy balance and do big weekly water changes..
I have four tanks and two are how I want them, I'm still struggling but feel I have progressed somewhat since that post above.

Geez come to think about it I think I have that boredom issue too. Realizing how many fish came and went, it's allot

My biggest problem is wanting fish I can't afford, or fish I can't afford to house...I've actually taken out a loan to purchase rays and build tanks! That's awful!! Now I really have myself in a bind, I recently bought 2 arapaimas. I have less than a year to finish a massive build. Literally 3/4 of my income goes straight into this hobby. Not complaining, but jeeze, I think I might have a problem!

Lol... Fishkeeping anonymous haha.

Oh ya.

Decisions I just can't make them...

Except when it comes to:

"Do I want a bigger tank?"
The answer is always: "YES"!!!!
