I thought I was they only one who used live earrings, lol, I tried that stumt with a northern alligator lizard about 8' long ONCE. Took almost a week before the bruising faded. Yup, I'm a moron sometimes!

iguanas tail-whip as a defensive measure.. that's a new one on me. know of any other lizards that do it?

do only certain iguanas tailwhip, or can you expect it from any grown specimen?

I had a 4 foot male green ig about 4 years, bought him at 10 in for 20$, i first socialized him in the bathroom since their was no palce to hide or escape, ****ER BIT MY PINKY, left a nice gash, after that insident he never bit me again. . . on purpose, at 4 feet and 10 pounds hand feeding him was dangerous because he was over eager, nipped (and i say that heavily) me every time i fed him bananna pieces containing a vitamin tablet. Holding him hurt as well, scales are worse than sandpaper especially against the grain( hehe no other wa yto say it).

Most monitors, waterdragons, and caiman lizerds tailwhip.

Most everything with a tail big enough to do damage tail whips

I had a three foot iguana other than tail whips we got along well.....

One day the neighbor came over to use the phone and he had a cast on his arm and she went straight up tearing the heck out of his hand with her claws. Even maintained ig claws can be awful ;)

kind of....her favorite spot was the back of the couch and I'm sure his arm just looked like a good way up so I can't really call it an attack..She was just climbing...

i had a 3' mexican spiny tailed iguana that clawed me to the white meat and bit me numerous bite and drew blood but i wouldnt trade him for the world i had him for almost 6yrs
