Finally picked up a female Hogaboomorum for my male to hopefully get some breeding action going and distribute fry to all you Hoga lovers. They're both F1 and were spawned by Madness' old wild pair and the male is a little over 10" and she's about 5" or so and he absolutely dwarfs her. I have a trapdoor in the divider that she can only fit through that I can open when I feel they have gotten used to each other' and hopefully down the road I wont need the divider. Stay tuned for some possible F2 Hoga's :)

Heres some pics of the new couple...

Thanks Jason! I did put her as a test with no divider for a bit and he pecked her a few times so that may be what your seeing as its not fully healed up yet. She also has a bit right below the dorsal. Was a bonehead move on my part but was curious how he would accept her.

I will for sure. Thanks!
Ok, no worries. I'm sure she will heal just fine. Things like that happen all the time.

Yeah. Hoping he warms up to her quickly, and we can try removing the door in the divider in the next week or so.

Good luck with them. Hopefully the male behaves for you :)
The female seems to have much redder color in head/face region, while the male is more yellow-ish. Is that expected of the species, or due to locale differences of these two individuals?
