The female seems to have much redder color in head/face region, while the male is more yellow-ish. Is that expected of the species, or due to locale differences of these two individuals?
There are no locale differences, Amphilophus hogaboomorum only occurs in the Rio Choluteca basin in southern Honduras on the Pacific slope.
Nice female bro, they should make some good looking offspring if you can make it happen.
