Hah..good thinking there..anyway..such a beauty deserves all the freedom possible...guess at this size...no tank is good enuff to hold it comfortably...

Red Pacu's get about 30" and would need about 180 gallon. Black Pacu's get to be 60" and need at least a 500 gallon tank.

Your Oscars will get to be just little over a foot long, about 13". And I hope you are not keeping them in that 29 gallon as two of them will need something like a 75 gallon.
all packs are the same there is only one species

Nope there are two species of pacu we kept....sadly both get HUGE! Black pacus are getting uncommon these days but red-belly pacus remained very common.

I thought there were 8 species considered to be pacu:

Acnodon normani - Sheep Pacu
Acnodon oligacanthus
Colossoma macropomum - Black Pacu
Piaractus brachypomus - Red-Bellied Pacu
Piaractus mesopotamicus - Yellow Pacu
Mylesinus paraschomburgkii - Pacu-Cana
Mylesinus paucisquamatus - Curupete Pacu
Mylesinus schomburgkii - Pacu

Yes there are more species of Pacu, but only two species are commonly kept in aquarium trade.
