yea, my friend had 2 males in his community tank, the bigger one was 12", the smaller one was 10" - he's the whole reason I got back into Cichlids after 20 yearsHey thanks everyone.
So been scrollin thru some older gt threads and some say they can reach 13"- 14" but of course offer no proof. Anyone actually legit see one that size? I think my guy may top 12" but 14" is crazy. And does anyone know of one to live past 10 years old? Everything I've read puts there life span at 7 - 10 years. Thanks.

If it's healthy, yes. The so called "royal" GT's at my LFS are only 6" and cost that much. Granted, they are tremendous looking...There's a 12inch one at the lfs for 100$ do you think that's a good deal?
