The Inca Stone Fish - Tahuantinsuyoa macantzatza

I have a pair of Inca Stone fish that have been showing off lately. They are an interesting species in that they lay their eggs on a portable surface, like a leaf or a thin piece of slate, that they proceed to drag around to keep the eggs out of harms way. When the eggs hatch, both parents mouth-brood the young. This is a very similar strategy to the Bujurquina genus. Here are a couple of pictures of the pair.

Great fish!!! Our LFS had them a few years back, but alas I didn't have room at the time. I wanted to see the leaf pulling in person.

do yours really look that gold in person? other pics & vids I've seen of these are bland brown, except for their spangles.

Those are some pretty fish!

Our LFS got some in on order for someone who never showed to buy them...so in a tank they went and they started breeding!..they were fun to watch I think they got picked up a while ago b they were amusing to watch.

The lighting over that tank is a warm white which creates a yellowish cast to the picture. They are more of a brown than the gold in the picture. Here's a picture that shows their more natural color.
