The "it's only temporary" statement

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Reticulated pythons. Sorry, they're only eating babies and small children right now. Not big enough for adults or adolescents... yet.
Just after Easter was my favorite time of year when I had my Burmese python. So many people giving away free bunnies.

Also, FWIW, I'm one of those "it's only temporary" people. My rescue went from a 29g to a 75g to a 150g...for now. It's only temporary until I can set up a bigger tank.

It only being temporary is a lot better then going with LFS recommendations haha according to the closest locally owned LFS , minimum tank size for peacock bass is 90 gallons, Oscars 55, rtc 90, endli bichir 55, festae 30, jag 55 it's just silly. The fact anyone who uses this statement even joined a fish forum shows they want to be on the right path for proper care.

Unless they're that guy who had the silver aro and cudas in a 20. He just said IDC I know it's too small whatever

So happy I am officially OUT of the "it's only temp" boat (well kinda...lol) We just upgraded! Moving my ID Sharks from their previous 75 to the 150 that I said I was gonna. Of course it's "only temp" until I upgrade again to a 300 but for their size that's not what they need right now so I'm safe.

I am (thankfully) part of the younger generatiom that DOES upgrade. I've got a small oscar in a 60g atm, and am buying a secondhand 180g on sunday. Then I'm moving him over and possibly adding a jag, depending on whether I think they'll be compatible long term. I've never had anything bigger than an oscar or RD long term as I've never had the tank space. Now that I will, I'm considering larger fish. I too learned the hard way about big fish plus small tanks when I was starting out. Luckily I never had casualties and moved them all on to other people with bigger tanks.
