all of the fish in those tanks are wild caught somewhere, as far as I know. Bass Pro doesn't actually care for the tanks themselves, an outside company, I can't remember the name to save my life, cares for the tanks. They come in a few times a week to clean the tank, change water, check on and quarantine new and sick fish. They're also responsible for the Fish Tank at the Bass Pro in Harrisburg, PA, and possibly the new one in Richmond, VA.
The fish actually bounce back and forth between several stores. Before the blue catfish that is in there now, there was another which was about 57 lbs (I think) Due to the fact that these two would battle for dominance over the tank, they took out the smaller one, and had him shipped to Harrisburg, which did not have a large cat in the tank. They will keep current state records in the tank and remove any of those which will hurt or fight with that current record fish. Not many of the employees know much about these tanks, believe it or not. Since, I have an unhealthy interesting in fish, I constantly bugged the gentleman who came in to clean and maintain the tanks and got this information.
