the good ones are prettymuch the same as the AR bullet button.. all you need is a bullet ("tool") to make it work..

some of the AR bullet buttons have a screw/allen that needs to be removed but they are prettymuch the first drafts of "crap this law blows... o wait ok heres something that makes it legal"

a picture is worth a whole bunch of my words on this one

KY is awesome. No county, city, or town can restrict gun ownership more then the state. In other words, Louisville, a very liberal city (at least compared to the rest of the state) can not enact and enforce any gun law that restricts gun ownership more then the state does, even if they wanted to.

Yeah, Ohio's supposed to have preemption status also but Cleveland and Cincinnati(sp?) still try to break the law. Kentucky's sounding better everyday.

That sucks, why hasny anyone challenged and sued? Things are definately going pro gun these days.

We have an interesting case in KY right now.

A pre-med student at the University of Kentucky was fired for having his gun in his car (also had CCW) at work (worked at the universities hospital). His care however was over a mile away and the student was really top notch, never in trouble of any kind.

Anyhow, the state prevents employers from firing people because the employee has a gun in his private car on employer property. There is a law that says private colleges may restrict gun rights, however UK is apublic university and guns are allowed on public grounds in KY. Its going to be interesting to see how this plays out as the case challenges contradicting laws. My guess is that this fellar is going to have a nice settlement when all things are said and done.

There is currently a case being decided, NRA v. Chicago, that looks to have nation wide impact on anti gun laws. I am not law savvy enough to expound on most of it. According to some it is pretty much a slam dunk and the anti gun people are now just trying to do damage control for future challenges. If you want to look it up, it started as something else but is now mostly referred to as NRA v. Chicago.

I'm in Cincinnati and I got my CCW a year ago. I carry my G22 everywhere I go. Only thing tricky about Cincy is there is no legal way to carry an unloaded handgun in a vehicle, it's a federal offense. Even if you have an unloaded gun in the glovebox and ammo in the trunk, so a lot of ppl get in trouble trying to play it safe. Put the ammo IN the gun and everything is ok though how bass-ackwards is that?

We also have an open carry law or the 'wild west' law as some call it. Which means I can have a loaded gun on my person without any ccw or permit for it as long as it's clearly visible and not obstructed by clothing and such...

How come it is a federal offense in Cincinnati but not every place else? Sounds like more of a local or state offense.

Its actually McDonald v. Chicago and Ive been following it. Its not necessarilly a 2nd Amendment case but also a 14th amendment case. Very important times indeed!

I read the transcript, well at least some of it, from Tuesdays hearings and that old hag Ruth needs to GTFO! She said, and I am paraphrasing here, that "other free modern societies have functioned just fine with out guns." Ok, I dont care if youre pro or anti on the issue, however Ruth is a SUPREME COURT JUSTICE. She took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States, so please tell me what in the heck do other countries and their gun laws have ANYTHING to do with the AMERICAN Constitution? That statement blew me away, its like a DEA agent saying that because pot is legal in Amsterdam, its ok here. WTF?!

Yes, dont confuse "federal offense" with a "felony" offense. Oh, and how in the heck do you conceal a G22? Do you have a different summer carry piece?

That is my understanding also. I can't claim to understand it all, but I believe they are using preemption from the 14th to uphold the 2nd. Kind of a slippery slope and not rely how the constitution was intended to be administered.

She took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States

Kind of sad what little meaning oaths have any more.:(

Its actually going to the supreme court and there should be a ruling by June. I've got a feeling that Cleveland Mayor Jackson will leave with his tail between his legs.:)

I believe Ohio law pertaining to Non-CCWers is that it has to be in a case with a snap or zipper unloaded and like you said, the ammo in a different compartment. Without a ccw license you can't legally have a loaded magazine in your car, the gun is still considered loaded.
