The king of all cichlids!?!

In your first post you asked this community about growth rates and aggression experience. No one really answered those questions, but gave advice, though unrequested, about your plans to house microlepis with incompatible species based on water parameter requirements. Now you are choosing to reject said advice, which is totally your prerogative, based on “knowing multiple” who have successfully kept microlepis in neutral pH water. So my question is why didn’t you just ask those people your question?

Sorry about that, I have two dream fish: Temensis peacock and empires cichlid. Since it has recently become a reality, it can get frustrating that I can only choose one of the two. I do know some people that keep them in fish store showtanks, at the same ph as the fish store, 7.0. The reason I am asking on here is to share your experience and the ph you kept them at. My main question to everyone is about their aggression.

One of the +’s about these 2 species, is if the world comes to an end you can have a good feed of fresh fish in your way out 😜

thebiggerthebetter thebiggerthebetter recently had a tough experience raising juveniles. They were housed in a community tank and I believe he lost 3 in the first month then rehomed the last one. Unlikely it was water quality, perhaps stress from tank mates as Milingu Milingu mentioned 🤷🏻‍♂️

Coincidentally, I just came across that while researching. Strange isn’t it? He takes good care of his fish I know that, so perhaps it could be stress from tank mates. I won’t be getting a group if I get one, but I noticed he put them in a big tank with fully grown fast moving fish that could maybe have caused stress.
