post the lfs(s) that are really bad, why they are bad so that we all steer clear.


Petco (obvious)
Wal-Mart (obvious)
PetSmart(obvious, somethimes worse than both put together)
 
I would never really consider a pet store a fish store anyway...I've always thought that a LFS was a store that sold only fish or at least mostly fish.
 
i dnt hav a walmart near me and my petco is atrocious while my petsmart is very very good during non summer months wen they dnt hav the college kids working. this is a case to case study u cant pin one company over another.

A Few Petland Discounts in the US EAST.. the employees dont know anything about fish.. and they once priced me wrong for a mistaken fish
 
petsmart. i screwed with them and asked if in 12in oscar could go in a tank with gold fish, and some koi. he said yeah there coldwater but he will be fine. rubbish! the oscar would have a feast! they also said that a sting ray they had wont eat anything but alge waffers. then right in front of me a guy buy 2 feeder guppy in and they were gone in mins.!! tisk tisk tisk but i did get this guy a year ago check my avatar. he was my flordia gar i think
 
Pets Paradise: For aussies.

These chain shops are everywhere and are phenomially poor in the stock and knowledge of fish.
 
Petbarn for aussies, they recently took over the already pretty bad independent store near me, the filters have now become Christmas trees bristling with dead decomposing fish and skeletons.

An independent store called Petland near me is almost as bad, then they told me they don't take fish from the public for quarantine reasons, what a laugh, they have more ich in their tanks then the general public combined.
