The LFS hall of shame

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Petco. I bought a frontosa marked $30 for 6.99 because he thought it was an assorted cichlid. Oh wait, that is awesome!!!

I hate all fish shops the employees are all ignorant and rude!! If you want customer service, get a snake!

I think its pretty obvious that all chain stores are going to suck overall with a few exceptions. Now we could start knocking of names of LFS but since we are spread out it wouldnt serve much purpose. Unless there is some official list to be posted on the net haha.

petsmart. i screwed with them and asked if in 12in oscar could go in a tank with gold fish, and some koi. he said yeah there coldwater but he will be fine. rubbish! the oscar would have a feast! they also said that a sting ray they had wont eat anything but alge waffers. then right in front of me a guy buy 2 feeder guppy in and they were gone in mins.!! tisk tisk tisk but i did get this guy a year ago check my avatar. he was my flordia gar i think
well that depends on the size of the goldfish, i have personally seen goldfish over 6", my friend had 2 in a 45 or 55 i dont remember i was young. but i know they were huge. and a good fish that size would not be eaten by a oscar.

i think we should leave chain stores out of this, like petco petsmart. there are so many of them that you cant say they are all bad cause petsmart where i work is really good.

Rick's Pet Shop - terrible customer service everyone in there is a dick its like you have to be to get the job. and they only sell gold fish, they used to sell a lot of fish and SW but everything prob died and the last time i went in it was all gold fish.

petco is out of town, but i love the free monster fish they have

if you ever go to Los angeles, dont go to pets of wilshire.

My only lfs cares more about its salt water fish than anything else and the freshwater are mostly in good condition. I think they have a plague of pathogenic mycobacteriosis that they are seriously denying. The salties seem welled cared for though.
