Nice MM Pups HUH wonder where you got those;);););)

I wonder Ed where I got my first marbles from. ;)

Ive haven't seen parents better then the pups I've have now.
(pictures please)

I know now where I can always get quality marbles from, leos is from trev and others blacks from Brent and fishdog for jags ( hey "M" , let me know when you have a batch again).

Never dealt with trev yet, but I know he'll hook it up. Top class cat, from what I've heard.

Nice tank and fish...Geos look like Altifrons to me.

The geos are Geophagus dicrozoster. They have a large midlateral spot, stripped caudal fin with a preop mark. Looks like a Geophagus steindachneri in the background too but I can't tell for sure.

MM's look fantastic! I like that tank a lot.

Thanks JK47.

Doing some research, looking at pictures and asking questions about the geos, I do believe that the geos are in fact Geophagus Dicrozosters.

Quoted from the CichlidForum: Cichlid Profile;

"Vertical bands or blotches can be observed on this fish when excited or at rest. The most definitive mark for G. dicrozoster is the fourth band of seven. It starts at the dorsum and continues on an angle, merging or almost merging with the fifth band at the upper lateral line."

And yes, the back Geophagus in the back is a Geophagus Steindachneri. Had five of them, but my Geophagus Brasiliensis had beaten up three of them and one jumped.

Stunning pups hayn!
Those must have come from a cool dude :)
I need some pancakes one of these days.
Your tank is missing some bass tho....

Thanks JK47.

Welcome! Yeah there is a lot to ID'ing a geo properly. The black smudge on the cheek is the fastest way to tell. 95% of the time dicrozoster is the species if that mark is there in case your looking for more and people don't know what they have.
