Timothy Treadwell thought he had a bond with Grizzlies in Alaska until one tragic day after years of spending time with them....

He has a very, very rare talent.

You never realize how big lions actually are until you see that their paws are the same size as an average human's head. I love the hyenas, they're so goofy! I've heard from care takers that hyena pups will form very strong, life long bonds with their keepers.

I saw that documentery... RIP Treadwell

Another thing people don't realize is that a lion could fit a humans head and neck in its mouth.

what happened?

He would always pet these bears and he lived with them, etc, but one day a bear that wasn't familiar with him killed him and his girlfriend. He was a really smart, confident guy who really cared about these animals.

Although I feel sorry that he died, the bear got spooked and attacked, that's what animals do. You can't really blame the bear, it was a wild animal.

I don't know if I would call him smart and confident. I would call him a little crazy. He was a weird individual. Either way, it is very sad what happened.

The thing about the documentary that made me mad is how after the bear killed him and the girl, they flew in by helicopter to the bear's natural habitat and killed it.

In the documentary it said that the grizzly was old and humans are an easy meal.

Well, maybe a mix of both. He was definatly a bit crazy but he knew all about the bears and knew each individual one's personality.

That made me mad also. It's like the law in Florida, where if someone goes into a croc/gators natural habitat and is bitten, the animal has to be killed.

I see what you are saying, but I think it is different. The population in Florida is so close to crocs/gators, that even though the animals were there first, when people are attacked close to civilization, it is justifiable to kill the animal.

On the other hand, this Grizzly Bear lived probably at least 100 miles (just a guess) from any civilization, and they flew in to this remote wilderness just to kill him.
