The "little big guy" - Dicrossus maculatus

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Love these fish! I've had filamentosa in the past and have throughly enjoyed them. I've threatened to get some maculata in the past but just have never gotten around to it. Maybe its time...

how about some pics of the females?

I love this guy. I wish I had grabbed some up when they were for sale, but I was raising fry in all of my small tanks at the time. Keep us posted!

Thanks guys!! I snagged my wifes camera so I could get a few pics without the flash. This is his tank. Just these 3 and a corydora school.

Didn't catch your post sorry. I was only able track down two more and they are both significatly small than him. I am crossing my fingers for a female but only time will tell. The 3rd and 4th pic show one of the two I'm hoping is a she.

That is a beautiful fish, and the aquascaping is looking good as well. I am fairly sure those are Maple leaves rather than Oak, but both are hardwoods.

Good to know Dan, thanks! These are the ones you saw last time you were up. Give me a few weeks on the scape, this is where I am going with that tank:
