Wow, 3 fx6s doin work! Your balas are getting monster.
Yep, the three are the perfect combo with the 300., though I wish I had done a sump instead, lol

Getting close to being able to add my grow out pearsei with the big balas. Real concern is the 20" endli... he has eaten some surprising big fish Ive tried to add in the past.

Tbh I think sump + can may be the real "perfect" combo...I have an fx6 just sitting n storage idk why I never try to test this theory.

I use canisters in both my sumps; an FX6 in the sump for my 450gal tank, and an FX4 in the sump for my 180gal. I use the canisters only for mechanical filtration/water polishing (no chemical or bio media), though I guess they also act as bio filter as I've never had to clean them, I only change out the poly-fil pads in the top tray about every 2 months. They also keep my sumps really clean.

I'll have to cheat on this one as I no longer have a current all glass tank to take a photo of. This is my old 180g (6ft). And yes you're right, there's nothing like a "long view" to give you an indication of how clear your water is.

Once the Val became well established in this tank it looked awesome. I miss not being able to keep plants, but the current stock/depth of my 360 means I'd struggle.

I like that aquascape idea and may employ it.
