They certainly are moody fish, I had to boot my 12 incher out of his hiding spot for fear of decor collapse. Now he hasn't eaten for weeks. Meanwhile my Granulosus has packed on another 3 inches

My 6-pack grew a bit. The biggest are 12"+. The smallest are 11"-12":
Well, I have held out for 2 out of the promised 3 years :)

My 6 guys have mostly been in 4500 gal and poorly eating except for one so I left it in 4500 gal. It's probably about 18" now. The rest are back on a 240 gal and don't look like they grew to any significant degree, perhaps an inch, maybe two for a couple specimen.
Man time flies, doesn't feel to me like this thread was started 3 years ago. So Viktor the smallest is 18 inches and the rest are an inch or two bigger then him? Also in case I hadn't said it before, heck even if I have, you have an awesome collection of cats.

Same here with mine. Sometimes the count goes on even for months. And I think this has been mentioned, maybe even in this thread. Good to know there is (some) consistency.

Thanks bro! So it does fly. No, the biggest is 18", eyeball estimate. The other 5 have been stagnating as far as the growth goes. Two of them might have added 1"-2". The other 3 look like they haven't grown in 2 years! Shocking. I think some fish has been bothering them a bit in that 4500 gal. Guessing my two Distichodus lussoso. I've learned they were the biggest jerks in my 4500 gal. Out they went into a 240 gal jerk tank.

Interesting thread.

I have 3, ranging from 11.5”-30”. I’ve found the two grow well. The one around 16” much slower. I’ve owned the 11.5” one almost two years. Brought at around 1.5”, it was that small it’s markings where actually white and black. This ones very greedy always out looking for food. I feel it will make 12” in 24 months.

The middle one (16”) is a much different fish. Some days comes out for food. Other days not.owned for around 3 and half years now from 4”.

The biggest one (30”+) is 14 years old, and eats out my hand. Very rarely misses a meal, very bold and friendly. Super impressive. I’ve owned her for 2 years or so now. And she’s added around 3” over that time.

Our situation is similar.

Not much change to report on our 6-pack. The one in 4500 gal is around 2' and doing seemingly well but takes part only in 1 feeding out of 2 or 3 or 4. The rest 5 couldn't cope in 4500 gal (always piled up, rarely feeding; spent in that 4500 gal about 1.5 years) and have been in a 240 gal for 2 years now. They appear around 14"-16".

It seems the supposed columnaris outbreak we had in 2018 had gotten to some of them as I see some have bulging eyes and reduced appetite but still hanging on.

All of them about 6+ years with us since 3".

What is your all experience with this guys?
Are they more active when you have more than one in your tank?
I have one about 10 Inches+ but i never see him swimming around.
Maybe he needs more time to get used to his new home.
