only thing ive seen mine eat is jmc catfish pellets, must be eating something as i ran out of these months ago and didnt buy any-more due to the oily mess they make... which snails are safe to feed, are mts any good?

IDK. You'd need to dig a bit to be confident w.r.t. the species. In general, we know that, e.g., Oxydoras niger has a nickname "Mother of all snails" because people have been finding any and all kinds of snails in their stomachs. I'd imagine Megalodoras should not be too different.

Pulled mine six out yesterday. All look healthy, fed but are still sitting at ~10". Slow-to-indiscernible growth in ~6-8 months

If you count years for miles, it sounds about right... I wonder how old are those couple of 2-footers I've ever seen here in pics?

I've never seen mine eat, actually I never see him unless doing a water change. I've had him for 8-9 months though, so he has to be eating something.

Sounds about right. Mine eat ~ every 10th feeding and even then not much. Now that I got them in a tank, we'll see more and study better.
